Q8Aviation to provide with EasyJet with aircraft sustainable fuel

Kuwait: Kuwait Petroleum International (KPI), Q8Aviation, the jet fuel subsidiary of the company, signed an agreement with the leading European carrier, EasyJet, to support all its sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) requirement over the next five years.

This agreement works to limit the carbonite emissions from jet fuels and allows the European carrier company to reach zero gas emission by 2050, the KPI added in a press release issued Wednesday.

It also confirms the strength of the partnership between Q8Aviation and EasyJet, as Q8Aviation has been a major supplier of aviation fuel to easyJet for more than 15 years, it added.

In 2021, easyJet was the first airline to operate flights out of Gatwick airport using a mixture of SAF and Jet A-1, supplied by Q8Aviation, it said.

Acting President of Kuwait Petroleum International Waleed Al Ben Ali said: “The agreement between Q8Aviation and its long-term partner easyJet is a significant step and reflects KPI’s sustainability objectives. Reducing carbon emissions is of critical importance and we very much welcome the opportunity to support easyJet in its ambitious plans to achieve net-zero carbon emissions.” KPI, known by its trademark Q8, was established in 1983. Its main focus is to refine and market fuel, lubricants and other various petroleum derivatives globally. Q8 is the international subsidiary of Kuwait Petroleum Corporation, which combines elements of Kuwait oil sector under one corporate umbrella and is recognized as one of the world’s top ten energy conglomerates.

Q8Aviation is one of the world’s leading jet fuel marketers, providing fuel to well over 200 airlines at more than 60 airports across Europe, Africa, the Middle East and the Far East.

In addition to serving major international airports, Q8Aviation also has a presence at a growing network of smaller regional airports.
