MoH gets nod to buy medical consumables


KUWAIT CITY, Oct 12: The Ministry of Health has got the nod from Central Agency for Public Tenders (CAPT) to purchase medical consumables for insulin pumps for people suffering from diabetes and receive treatment in government hospitals worth up to 1.25 million dinars, reports Al-Qabas daily.

The sources said these pumps work to adjust insulin doses, and help automatically to maintain the high blood sugar levels, and at the same time protects the patients should there be a sudden drop in the blood sugar levels. On the other hand, the sources indicated that the Ministry has obtained the approval of the concerned authority to supply an industrial medical substance which is used to stop bleeding, at a cost of up to 337,000 dinars, and added, the Ministry will not hesitate to import the latest medical devices and supplies to all specialized centers and hospitals since the aim is to develop the level of health care provided to all patients.
