Eleventh batch of Pfizer to arrive today, Kuwait can vaccinate 700,000 people per month

The eleventh batch of the Pfizer-Biontech vaccine against Covid 19 will arrive in Kuwait this afternoon, on Emirates Airlines, at three in the afternoon, Al Jarida reported.

The sources confirmed to the daily that the shipment will be transferred directly to the Kuwait Vaccination Center in the exhibition grounds in the Mishrif region for distribution.

The sources pointed out that the second shipment of the ‘AstraZeneca Oxford’ vaccine arrived at 3 pm yesterday on Emirates Airlines Flight EK857 coming from Russia with 150,000 doses. The vaccine was transported directly to the stores and warehouses of the Ministry of Health for distribution centers and public hospitals affiliated with the ministry.

The sources assured all citizens and residents that this shipment is coming from a different production facility from the shipments imported to Europe. They also stressed that the Ministry of Health with the sturdy rate of vaccine supply can vaccinate 700,000 people per month.

The sources confirmed that the Ministry of Health will expand the provision of vaccinations during the blessed month of Ramadan. The health centers and hospitals will operate in two shifts from two to six in the evening, and from eight in the evening until midnight.

The number of citizens and residents who received the vaccine in Kuwait has reached about 660,000 so far, equivalent to 16% of the population.
