Kuwaiti commerce ministry seeks to appease gold traders

The Kuwaiti Ministry of Commerce and Industry is eager to overcome obstacles facing gold traders and merchants through providing them with an environment conducive for business, its undersecretary Dr. Khaled Al-Fadhel said on Tuesday. National laws and regulations should be abided by given the recent irregularities detected in the gold business, which will be dealt with through the rule of law; he was cited as saying in a statement issued by the ministry.

Al-Fadhel said that the ministry has met with the gold traders recently to address their grievances, discussing with them other issues including chronic delays that have dogged transactions in gold and other precious stones.
