Kuwait on Monday called on Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries to keep abreast of the swift world economic development through uniform visions, the Kuwait News Agency (KUNA) reported.

Addressing the meeting of the GCC Financial and Economic Cooperation Committee held in Kuwait Monday, the Kuwaiti Minister of Finance Nayef Al-Hajraf said GCC countries should harness all capabilities and potentials to fulfill the objectives of the GCC leaders by creating a strong economic bloc able to vie with other global economic groups, KUNA said.

This meeting aimed at attaining Gulf economic cooperation and translating GCC directives into action programs and turning ambitions into tangible reality, he said.

'In spite of the accomplishments achieved on the ground, there is still a long way to meeting the hopes and ambitions of our people in a proper way,' he said.

The one-day meeting is mainly meant to bolster Gulf people-to-people relations and achieve economic integration, KUNA said.
