Plan to attract up to six million visitors to Kuwait

The Afro-Asian Economic Council (AAEC) on Thursday unveiled an initiative under the slogan of “the world visits Kuwait 2019.” The initiative was launched at press conference at the end of the AAEC sustainable development conference themed “the Arab governments’ strategies for sustainable development 2030. It falls in the framework of the vision of His Highness the Amir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah for turning Kuwait into a regional financial, commercial and cultural hub, AAEC president Tareq Al-Obaid noted at the press conference.

“The plan targets attracting up to six million visitors from across Asia and Africa to Kuwait to see the political, economic, social and cultural atmospheres in the country,” he pointed out. “The State of Kuwait has made huge strides towards development under His Highness the Amir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah,” Al-Obaid said, commending the efforts made by First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defense Sheikh Nasser Sabah Al- Ahmad Al-Sabah. The plan aims also to bring about a quantum leap not only in Kuwait but in the Gulf region and beyond as well, he said, voicing the AAEC desire to strengthen partnership with Kuwait through lobbying for “the world visits Kuwait 2019” initiative.
